Hello Families,

Today we read our Halloween books and students are bringing their book home. Ask your child to read their book to you!

We wrote about our costumes and played a Halloween tag game in gym. 

Students are bringing home their photo proofs today. Please have a look and decide if you would like to purchase some. The deadline for orders to be returned is November 9th. There will be photo retakes if you are not satisfied with this set of pictures.

We went to music and we played pass the broomstick!

We went to gym and played pumpkin smash.

We wrote Halloween poems. Ask your child what they wrote!

Today we finished our tear art spooky spiders! Check it out!

Friday is black/ orange or costume day. Students are invited to dress in black and orange or wear a costume to school. Students will continue with the usual learning activities, including gym and outdoor learning. Please ensure costumes will still allow your child to participate fully in all activities. Please do not send face masks or costume accessories that could be a safety issue. I look forward to seeing all the children dressed up! Thank you!

Today we wrote sentences about ourselves. Ask your child what they wrote. 

We played a new game in gym called Pumpkin Smash.

We went to the library. Ask your child what books they took out.

Today is the last evening to submit Fall photos to Mrs. Brinson for our school video. We would love to see your child and family in the video!

Hello families,

Today went to the playground. Ask you child about their favourite equipment!

We went to music.

We learned about shapes and played colour and shape bingo. Ask your child to find some shapes around the house.

Since parents do not have the chance to come into the classroom this year, I'm including a few photos from around our room. You can ask your child about the photos.

Tomorrow, October 27, is the last day to send a fall photo of your family to Mrs. Brinson to be included in our school wide video. We would love to see your family carving pumpkins, going for a fall walk, or enjoying any other fall activity.

We learned a new reading strategy called cross-checking. Ask your child about this strategy. 

We wrote sentences about our moms. 

We sketched the inside of a pumpkin, just like a scientist! 

We had math shape centres. Ask your child what they did at their centre.

I hope you had a nice long weekend! The words of the week are: I, can, see, red, is. 

Red is our colour of the week.

We learned about the brain. We started listening for sounds to spell words. We went to gym and practiced throwing. We learned about using our senses in Fall.

Today we had a fire drill. We learned about Fall and went for a walk outside to see Fall changes. We did a free writing activity. We practiced drawing leaves. We went to gym. We practiced counting to 20 and played a new game called Around the World.

Hello families, 

Today we:

-Watched a virtual smudge where Mr. Scout explained the importance of our relationship to the land.

-Went outside to make an offering to the land in exchange for the learning we will be taking from the land. We took a chance to sit, listen and observe the nature around us. 

-Learned a new Lively Letter- Short Vowel 'a' (the apple)
