 Hello families, 

Today we did our literacy centers and then we wrote about the caterpillar we drew yesterday.  We did read to self and read to partner, and then we did some Heggerty programming as well. 

We played wax museum and heads up seven up today. We did gym in the classroom, we did 3 movement break videos and some Cosmic Kids yoga too. We did a review of 3D shapes and skip counted from 5, 10 and 2's. 

We talked about safety in the community, and we learned about the building challenge we are doing in Science next week.

 Hello families, 

Today we finished writing about the beginning, middle and end of the Fairy Tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  We  did our literacy centers today too.  Ask your child which center they had today. 

We did skipping rope in gym, and then we did a review of all of the word wall words we have learned so far.  We did a review of 3D shapes and we also went onto the playground and looked at the shapes we see on there, and figured out how things were built too. 

We had library today and got new books to read.

Today we did a lot of writing. We are writing about the beginning and middle of Goldilocks and the Three bears.  We did literacy centers today too. 

We had music and we did the Green Jellybean song. 

We had DPA and we did a Mario themed classroom workout.

Today we did our literacy centers and then we wrote about our favourite Fairy Tale character. We also did some smore Heggerty program today. 

We did our science and math centers again today too. Ask your child what centers they went to and what they building challenges were. 

In gym, we did yoga and we all really enjoyed it.

 Hello families, 

Today we read a Fairy Tale, it was called The Frog Prince. 

We did gym in the classroom today, and we did a Cosmic Kids Yoga about Silver Foxes. 

We did some Science centers today including: building with plastics, cardboard, cubes, blocks, lego, cups and cards, playdough and popsicle sticks and playdough and straws.

We also did Math centers today and we worked on sorting 3D shape blocks, toothpicks and playdough, 2D and 3D shape attribute puzzles, a smartboard game and then sorting pictures of 2D and 3D shapes.

Today we finished our writing about our favourite Fairy Tales. 

We had gym after lunch and we played hot dog tag.  Ask your child to explain the rules.  In Math we worked on our numeracy week display circles (you will see the new display in the coming days), and we learned about or new centers and looked at 3D shapes.  In Science, we learned about all of our new centers so that we are ready to start them tomorrow. 

We had library today so we got some new books for our tables.

Today we did read to self. We wrote about our favourite Fairy Tale and why they were our favourite. We will continue this next week too. 

We had music, and we did a song for St. Patricks day. In DPA we did an Encanto Freeze Dance and Cosmic Kids Yoga. 

We made 3D shapes with playdough and learned about their names and attributes such as edges, faces and points/vertices. 

We watched a video about Finding Nemo that taught us about perseverance.  As your child what it means.

Today we did read to self and read to partner. After snack, we did our literacy centers. 

 writing about Fairy Tales.  We wrote about our favourite Fairy Tale and what makes it a Fairy Tale.  We read two Fairy Tales today and we talked about how they are Fairy Tales as well. 

In Gym, we played Ultimate Mustache Ball. Ask your child how to play. 

We also worked a lot on our Heggerty program.

Tuesday March 8, 2022

 Hello families, 

Today we read Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  We talked about what made this a Fairy tale. We also did our weekly poem and Heggerty. 

In Gym, we did an obstacle course with hockey skills.  Ask your child what they learned. 

We watched a video on perseverance today because we will need to use that skill when we are doing the building things unit in Science. 

In Math, we looked at 3D shapes and traced all their sides so we can see what 2D shapes make up 3D shapes.

 Hello families, 

Today we read a fairy tale called Three Little Pigs. We will use this as a basis for our science and math units over the next little while.

We had music today and we we did freeze dance.  In gym, we did a stick handling game.  Ask your child what they did.

In math, we used 3D shapes to explore and build with. In science, we watched The Magic School Bus on Construction, where we learned about how to make bridges out of found materials.

 Hello families, 

Today we did our literacy centers, and read our poem.  We also did read to self and read to partner. 

We learned how to make a good copy of our writing, and we had Ms. Honig help us edit our work.

In gym we did hockey, and we learned how to be a goalie.

We did a guided drawing of Olaf, and we learned how to shade with colors to show a 3D picture. 

For Science, we did guess the sound, and got another letter and clues from Splat and Pete the Cat.

Wednesday March 2, 2022

 Hello families, 

Today we did literacy centers, and did some Heggerty programming.  We said some words and the teacher told us to replace part of the word with another word.  For example, the word toothache, and then replacing the word tooth with head to make headache. 

We wrote about our favorite activities in the snow. Ask your child about some of their favorite snow activities. 

 In Music, we did the Green Jellybean song and then Lollipop song.  We also did freeze dance. In DPA, we did a Mario movement  break and a Spiderman cosmic kids yoga video. 

In Science, we got another clue about where Scaredy Squirrel could be, and he sent us clues.  We got to feel things in bags and figure out what they were based on only touch.  Ask your child what they felt in the bags.

In Math, we looked at shapes made with elastics and figured out what their names were.

 Hello families, 

Today we did read to self and read to partner.  We wrote about our favorite senses and why they are our favorite.  Ask your child what their favorite sense is and why. 

In gym, we did hockey and we learned how to pass to a partner.  In Science, we watched a video that answered questions about how people who are deaf can hear, and answered questions about sign language and about being deaf.  We played guess the sound on youtube.  In Character Education, we talked about how to keep all of our senses safe.  Ask your child about eye, ear, taste, touch and smell safety.

In Math, we reviewed 2D shapes in preparation for learning about 3D shapes. We played a donut-making game with shapes on the smart board.
