 Hello families,

Today we did read to self and read to partner. Ask your child about the books they read. We read our poem called "Snowball", ask your child about this poem.

We worked on Heggerty today and practiced figuring out if words rhymed or not, and we talked about how tone is important when asking questions.

We watched some more of the Olympics today and read a story called "You Matter".

Please see below for an important message on Valentine's cards and general reminders.

Have a great weekend.

VALENTINE’S CARDS

Due to the new lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions for Monday, if you would like your child to be able to hand out Valentine’s cards they have made or purchased, they may now do so.  This is fully optional and students or families should not feel obligated.

If you do wish to send cards, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  • There must be one card for all children in the class.  (A list of first names was sent home today for their reference; if your child was absent today, please email me for the list.)
  • Food items / candy cannot be included or sent to school. Non-edible items only please.
  • Tell your child that if someone says, “No thank you” to receiving the card, that is also okay.  There are many reasons that not all families will want to participate.

If you DO NOT want your child bringing cards home, please tell them to leave them at school. (Teachers will not be able to monitor this.)

Reminders:

Please ensure your child is not bringing toys from home to school.

Please put an extra pair of pants and socks in your child's backpack, as it is getting pretty wet and mucky outside. Waterproof footwear is strongly advised.
